Bosch Sensortec has developed a training sensor that with the help of artificial intelligence should be able to determine what type of training a user performs.

The sensor comes preloaded with 15 different training routines such as different types of swimming and weightlifting. If there is no specific routine for what the user wants to do, it is possible to set the sensor on a learning mode and then create such a routine, a routine that the sensor will then automatically recognize the next time the user performs it.

The idea is that the small sensor should be installed in, for example, an activity bracelet or a smartwatch. Bosch does not seem to have any plans to develop these themselves. However, it is not at all impossible that developers of activity bracelets and smartwatches will start installing this type of sensors in their gadgets in the future.
