The Mori Building Digital Art Museum: teamLab Borderless, is a museum in Tokyo's Odaiba district that has no floor maps, no glass or ropes around the exhibits, has nothing at all in fact to distance the viewer from the viewed .
The museum opened in June 2018 and is designed to allow visitors to not just see the artworks, but dive right into them, and even alter them.
The museum creates an environment in which human engagement drives the works, the collective hope to make the act of sharing the space with another visitor something powerful and integral to the experience of the artworks.
TeamLab Bordless uses a combination of 520 computers, 470 projectors and up to 100 self-described ultra-technologists.
The museum take you into a fairy tale experience.
Visitors wander through interconnected zones where immersive imagery created with 3D mapping and responsive projections flows throughout the museum’s corridors and rooms.
By making the visitor an integral part of the world’s first digital art museum, teamLab are showing how technology and art can work together to bring people closer.
